“With the passage of time I had the opportunity to discover the greatest treasure we have in Colombia my homeland country. Beyond our extensive natural resources I strongly consider that our most valuable treasure are our indigenous communities, who truly represent our origin and our essence.
As Colombian we cannot ignore our roots and much less we can not ignore the needs our indigenous communities face in actuality. It is not surprising that many of our indigenous groups today are threatened by externals factor of their environment.
For the development of this project we start from the idea that this is only the beginning of a continuous process that must be carried out to meet the objective we want to achieve. In the same way we start from the idea of being able to encourage other parties to get involved in the project, so we are totally open to receive any type of support / help to entities that share this same interest in building a social fabric.
Therefore, we are aware that the success of our project will not lie so much in our actions but in the example that we can set for more actors to be present. We want to be able to generate profits for the artisans at an economic level but always keeping in mind the worldview of indigenous groups and applying their principles from the beginning of the value chain to the end, as a way of contributing to the preservation of their cultural values.’’
